Check out some of these great pictures!

Well I thought we would have a regular week!

Today was a little hectic with the 2 hour delay this morning.

Here are some of the photos that I have taken in the last couple of days.

Here are some pictures of the students starting to research their country report, using the ipad!

This is our STAR student from last week! She was working very hard on finding information on her country report!

Here is the crazy carpet of books for the country reports!

In these pictures the students are working on elapsed time with clocks. They are creating T charts on their boards to find the answer.

These pictures are of the Mobile AG lab that we went to right outside our front doors. The students got to work through experiments to see whether the soybean or plaster of paris is harder! Ask your child which one they found to be harder.

Where has January gone?

I can't believe that we are getting near the end of January already! We made it through almost a month of 2014 and it has been great!

It was nice getting back into a regular routine this past week! I think we were all tired by the end of the week! The students did a great job getting all their work done all week and focusing on the material!

This week we are continuing a lot of what we have been working on in the classroom! In reading we are continuing "The Castle in the Attic." In English we are working on our country reports, and in math we are beginning our time and calendar unit.

This past week the students in our class and the students in Mss Johnson's class separated and counted the money we raised for the tornado victims. The first day we got together we only had time to separate the money. The students worked with one another in small groups to get this done quickly. The second time we counted the money in our own classrooms. The students did a wonderful job, but had a hard time figuring out how to roll the coins! It was a great learning experience for them all! Check out the pictures I took of them working hard to do this!

I also got some pictures of the students working on their timed Rocket Math activity we do each day! The students get anywhere between 1-2 minutes to complete this activity. They never know how much time they are actually getting each day. In that time they must complete 40 problems that are either multiplication, division, addition, or subtraction. The students love doing this and seeing if they can pass the letter they are on!

This was our STAR student this week! :)

Here are some other pictures of the students at work in the classroom!

Here the students are working on Social Studies! We are currently learning about the Europeans coming to America and how the lives of the Native American's changed.

In these pictures the students are reading different books about countries. Over the next few weeks we will be reading about countries and doing research projects on them. The students will get to pick their country this week, and begin their research! They are all very excited to do this!

Here are a few pictures of the assembly we had on Thursday afternoon. This woman does a wonderful job teaching the students about PA! She is very interactive and entertaining! The students really liked this presentation and assembly! Our Kiran was one of the stars of the game show!
